Event details

ABTA’s popular Travel Regulations Conference returns in November to provide an essential update and look ahead at the regulations governing the travel industry.

With a number of key regulations under review, in consultation or recently passed, this timely conference will provide an essential update on how you can prepare for the coming changes.

This year, ABTA's Travel Regulation Conference will explore four key areas impacting travel.

1. The changing landscape: how travel businesses can manage in a world that is constantly changing. This section will explore political, economical and technological change.

2. Consumer rights: following the implementation of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act there have been considerable changes to consumer rights including new rules on pricing and customer reviews, as well as enhanced powers for the CMA. This section will explore these changes and what they mean for travel businesses.

3. Package Travel and ATOL: with the UK Government's PTR consultation now closed, Package Travel Directive reform being negotiated in Europe and ATOL reform still on-going this section will provide essential updates on the regulations governing travel and will hear different industry perspectives on what comes next.

4. Managing risk: in an ever changing world it is vital for travel businesses to manage their own exposure to risk. This section will look at what can be done to protect yourself against claims and manage the impact of geopolitical conflict, industrial action, and extreme weather events.
