FCO change of advice for Tunisia

As of 18.00 Thursday, 9 July 2015 the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) has changed its travel advice to Tunisia.

It now advises against all but essential travel.

For any holidaymakers that are currently out in Tunisia, you are advised to contact your travel company to confirm arrangements for returning home.

Those who have travelled independently are advised to follow Foreign Office advice and consider if it is essential to stay in Tunisia.

For anyone due to travel, you should be aware that travelling out to Tunisia at this time is likely to invalidate your travel insurance policies. Most insurance policies will still provide cover for travellers in a country at the time of Foreign Office advice change.

Those with holidays booked within the next 48 hours to Tunisia are advised to contact your travel company to discuss available options. If you have booked a package you will be entitled to a refund or alternative holiday. Please see our Q&A below.

If you are not travelling within the next 48 hours you will need to check with your travel company what your options are and follow their advice.

Anyone with bookings beyond the summer is advised to wait until closer to your departure date to contact your travel company as the situation is fluid and may change.
