The Travel Convention achieves winning feedback

The Travel Convention, organised by ABTA, won a British Travel Award for ‘The Best Agent Event or Conference for over 150 delegates’ at the British Travel Awards ceremony on 5 November 2009.

Although the accolade was for last year’s Convention in Gran Canaria, announcement of the award coincides with feedback from The Travel Convention in Barcelona this year, which found that 92 per cent of delegates thought the event was of value to their business. Unsurprisingly a similar proportion of delegates (93 per cent) said that they either would, or may attend the Travel Convention in 2010, with 83 per cent reporting that they thought the 2009 Convention was either good or very good.

This year’s most popular speakers include Andrew Pierce, Assistant Editor and political columnist for the Telegraph Media Group, Richard Reeves and John Knell, who conducted the ABTA MBA, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ speakers Mark Hudson and Malcolm Preston, all of whom achieved extremely positive feedback from delegates.

Mark Tanzer, ABTA Chief Executive of ABTA said: “The Travel Convention is the key event in the travel industry calendar. We are constantly assessing it and working hard to maintain the quality, and I am delighted at its success over the last few years. We will continue to strive for excellence for our flagship event.”
