ABTA was deeply saddened to hear of the deaths of three young British tourists whilst climbing waterfalls in Vietnam. ABTA would strongly recommend that if you are thinking of undertaking any potentially risky activity whilst on holiday and you are on a package holiday, book the activity through your tour operator. If you are travelling independently, only use a company that is properly licensed through local authorities. Always trust your instincts – if you feel that the equipment provided for your activity is inadequate or not up to scratch – walk away.
