ABTA’s social media training day to return virtually in May

ABTA’s introductory-level training has been designed specifically for the travel industry. The popular training day has been updated to provide timely practical guidance on how to make the most of social media during the travel restart and to allow companies to take advantage of consumers pent-up demand for holidays.

With consumers increasingly turning to social media channels to look for travel inspiration, attendees can use the day to refresh their existing knowledge and put a strategy in place to transition from ‘inspirational dreaming’ to content that generates leads and converts bookings.

ABTA is pleased to announce that the training will be led by travel industry social media expert, Bruce Martin. Bruce is the Managing Director of Ginger Juice, an award-winning social media agency specialising in travel, tourism and hospitality. Bruce has over 20 years’ travel industry experience and provides down-to-earth social media training workshops for travel businesses.

The day will start with an introduction on the rise of social media, how it has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the latest trends and social media’s role in the re-start of travel. The rest of the day will be broken into ‘the three steps to successful social media: perfect posts, eye-catching ads and powerful follow-up’. There will also be an industry case study from Exodus Travels and a panel session including Discover Adventure and other industry experts and representatives.

Attendees will also take part in two practical exercises as part of the day where they can review and discuss real-life social media posts and put their learnings to the test in an interactive quiz. There will be plenty of time throughout the day for questions.

ABTA’s new Social Media Training for Travel is being held virtually on 12 May 2021. Find out more, download a full agenda and register your place online.
