ABTA LifeLine seeks runners for Vitality London 10,000 to fundraise for travel colleagues in need

ABTA LifeLine is calling on travel industry colleagues to run the 2024 Vitality London 10,000 on behalf of the charity. The 10K will take place in central London on Sunday 22 September.

ABTA LifeLine is offering five free places at the 10k run to help raise vital funds for those in the industry in need of emotional, financial, and practical support. Runners of all abilities are welcome, from total beginners to casual runners and seasoned competitors.

The iconic course through the heart of London will give participants the opportunity to spot some of the capital’s landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace. It’s expected 15,000 runners will take part and there will plenty supporters cheering participants on along the way.

LifeLine entrants will be set a target of raising £500 each for the charity, with all proceeds raised going directly to LifeLine to help support an individual or family in need within the travel community. From benefits, budgeting and housing advice, crisis loans or replacing essential household appliances, to counselling and wellbeing support, the charity is on hand to get people through these difficult times.

For further information on taking part or to apply for a place please contact LifeLine@abtalifeline.org.uk. Places are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and fundraising is easily done though the charity’s JustGiving page.

ABTA LifeLine Director, Trudie Clements, said:

“This is a fun and exciting opportunity to fundraise for ABTA LifeLine. Every kilometre run, and every penny raised will make a huge contribution to people in the industry facing difficult times.

We welcome everyone of all levels to get involved. So, whether you’re new to running and inspired by the recent London Marathon, or a more experienced runner, this will be an unforgettable day against a backdrop of some of London’s most stunning sights”.
