A name on one of my travel tickets has been mis-spelt, can my travel company charge me to amend this?

If the name on your ticket is mis-spelt you may be denied boarding or entry into the country you’re visiting.

If it’s your fault, you could be asked to pay an amendment fee or the ticket may have been issued on a non-changeable, non-refundable basis, which means you may have to pay the cost of a new ticket.

If it’s the error of the company then they are obliged to amend the name/s free of charge.

In instances where the company does not accept liability, for instance where the booking may have been conducted over the phone and there is no recording, then you would be liable to pay the charge.

You will not be able to use the ticket until the name has been amended.

Remember
The names on the tickets must match the names on the passports. It’s really important that you confirm the spelling of your travelling companions (if you’re unsure) before proceeding with a booking. You should also ensure that the name you are travelling on is the same as the one on your passport.
