Event details

ABTA’s popular one-day training course offers practical guidance on VAT in travel and a comprehensive update on all travel VAT changes.

Get the latest updates and practical guidance from travel tax specialists.

Staying up to date with the complex and often confusing topics of travel VAT and the Tour Operators Margin Scheme (TOMS) can be challenging and time consuming.

Attend this practical training day to ensure you have the confidence and knowledge to correctly account for TOMS and VAT in travel. ABTA’s thorough training will help you avoid accounting errors, unnecessary costs and potential fines.

Uniquely tailored to the travel industry, the training day will provide guidance and answers to the following questions:

•    Where do non-EU tour operators currently need to register for VAT?
•    How do you account for VAT across the EU?
•    Are you aware of all the changes expected in EU VAT reform? Including changes to the application of VAT to the Platform Economy, and changes to the reporting requirements for bed banks and other accommodation intermediaries.
•    Have you considered the VAT risk in the countries you operate?

Through interactive sessions and exercises you will practice travel VAT calculations first hand and have ample opportunity to discuss your questions with tax experts.

This seminar is aimed at travel industry finance professionals who require a full understanding of VAT.

Sessions

•    Introduction to VAT in travel including post-Brexit changes
•    EU VAT reform
•    The current position for UK tour operators in member states
