Event details

ABTA’s new Travel Tax Briefing will provide a comprehensive update on the latest tax issues facing finance departments within travel companies of all sizes. Stay up to date with changes in the world of tax and discuss solutions for your business.

About the event

Featuring sessions spanning VAT, corporation and employment taxes, this key event will address practical tax issues affecting businesses. Tailored for travel, get the latest on the hot topics facing businesses including VAT TOMS, international tax, Making Tax Digital (MTD), IR35 and entrepreneurs’ relief.

From April 2020, medium and large companies will be responsible for determining whether their non-payroll employees, including contractors, fall within the scope of IR35 legislation and are liable to pay a higher rate of tax. Ensure you are up to speed on what’s required of your business and are prepared for the changes ahead.

Discuss the implications for tax as we prepare to exit the EU at the end of October. Take a timely look at how Brexit may affect VAT TOMS with the content being tailored to reflect the ongoing negotiations.

Ensure that you are complying with the requirements of HMRC’s Making Tax Digital programme and get practical guidance from the experts.

The briefing will run from 10:30-15:40 and will be followed by a short drinks reception. Receive an update on the ‘hot topics’ facing the travel industry in the morning. Network and discuss how these updates affect your businesses over lunch and learn how to address changes during an in-depth practical case study in the afternoon. Refreshments will be included throughout the day.
