ABTA’s training day is designed for public relations and communications professionals from travel companies of all sizes. The one-day event will provide insight into how to plan effective strategic PR campaigns and expert guidance on the changing media landscape and the latest challenges and opportunities in travel PR.

Speakers

Moderator: Emma Brennan, Head of Media and Communications, ABTA

Emma is responsible for developing and delivering PR and communication strategies to support ABTA’s work on behalf of its members – from lobbying on policy matters to encouraging customers to book with an ABTA member. Her role also oversees ABTA’s busy press office, which is often the first port of call for journalists about a travel-related story or crisis. Prior to working at ABTA Emma has led the PR teams in national organisations including Citizens Advice and Keep Britain Tidy.

James Stewart, Freelance Journalist

James is an award-winning features writer specialising in travel and human-interest stories. His work appears in The Times and Sunday Times, Financial Times, The Telegraph plus a number of magazines and broadcast outlets.

Trudi Beggs, Director, 8020 Communications

Trudi is a member of 8020’s senior management team and leads the company marketing and diversity development programme. She has more than 20 years’ aviation and travel PR experience and is a regular conference speaker and panelist on PR in travel. Trudi specializes in commercial aviation and consumer travel, and has advised a wide range of clients at CEO level, including major airlines, business jet operators, travel management companies and luxury hospitality brands. Trudi has also worked with some of the industry’s most prominent tour operators, sustainable travel companies and tourist boards. 

 

Julian Fisher, Director of Media Output, markettiers

After 10 years as a broadcast reporter, programme producer and editor, Julian has now worked in broadcast PR for over two decades. At markettiers, Julian is responsible for shaping our client stories to maximise their broadcast potential. He specialises in the transport and travel sector delivering top tier broadcast coverage for a wide range of travel brands, cruise and airline operators as well as regulators and industry bodies
