This practical one-day training course will provide essential insights and learnings in fuel supply, heating and hot water systems that will allow you to identify potential risks and improve your understanding of fuel and energy safety good practice in holiday resorts and accommodation. Get practical examples to help you improve your own fuel and energy management processes and procedures.

About the event

The safe management of fuel supply, heating and hot water in holiday accommodation is a an essential part of a suppliers safety management programme.  However varied and in some cases a lack regulation or consideration in  countries can make this a complex safety mater for travel providers to monitor. This course has been designed to raise awareness of safe  fuel and energy management as well as the challenges and considerations faced by those responsible for health and safety – both remotely and locally.  

This practical training day will provide essential insights and learnings in fuel and energy safety management that will allow you to identify potential risks, improve your understanding of safety best practice, and provide you with the practical examples to help you improve your own safety management policies. 

The course will cover the key areas of fuel and energy safety management for resorts and accommodation including carbon monoxide awareness, carbon monoxide detection, flueing and ventilation, the supply and storage of LPG, emergency procedures for dealing with reports of gas leaks or fumes, and holiday accommodation management responsibilities.
  
The day will be led by licensed gas technician, Chris Jones AIGEM, who works closely with tour operators managing fuel safety issues and risk assessing gas installations in holiday accommodation worldwide

About the trainer

Chris Jones

Chris Jones AIGEM, Technical Safety Manager, CORGI Technical Services

Chris has worked in the gas industry for over 35 years and started his career as a service engineer with British Gas East Midlands. After joining CORGI in 1992 as a field inspector he soon progressed to the role of technical safety manager with a client base operating both in the UK and worldwide. Chris carries out contract management support for local authorities, housing associations and associated gas contractors. This includes management of third party auditing, gas management policies and procedures and the delivery of gas safety seminars. He is a qualified Carbon Monoxide Incident Investigator and manages carbon monoxide reported incidents throughout the UK on behalf of clients including gas suppliers, the HSE and police forces. This includes managing and participating in the investigation of fatal and non-fatal carbon monoxide incidents caused by gas appliances and faulty workmanship. Chris also works closely with tour operators, managing fuel safety issues and risk assessing gas installations in holiday accommodation worldwide – a role he is both passionate about and has a wealth of experience in.
