Why work at ABTA?

ABTA offers a friendly work environment in which colleagues are respected, can thrive and enjoy their work.

We encourage a culture where colleagues are supportive of each other, working in collaboration and drawing on expertise from other teams. Managers lead and bring their teams with them rather than simply telling them what to do, excellent work is praised and recognised, and two-way discussions are encouraged where everyone can have a genuine say.

ABTA employees receive a competitive total package of pay, excellent benefits, interesting work and a fantastic supportive and friendly culture. People face different personal circumstances, so ABTA’s benefits packages seek to address this where possible, with a range of benefits designed to meet varying needs and life stages.

We are a London Living Wage and Disability Committed employer.

All staff members, including our CEO and senior leadership team, work in an open-plan office which allows effective collaboration across departments on a variety of projects. Our office is in the heart of London Bridge, right next to the bustling Borough Market.

Learning and Development

Everyone at ABTA embraces the opportunity to develop themselves within their current role or other ABTA specialisms as this makes for more engaged and productive employees, and even more interesting work. It allows individual and collective expertise to be maintained and strengthened, to the benefit of members and their customers.

We provide a strong learning and development framework that will bring out the best in each and every one of our colleagues, whatever stage they are at in their career. Our programmes include:

  • Training – we provide staff with training that suits their needs, to help them grow stronger in their roles.
  • “Every Touch” – our quarterly development meetings with line managers allows us to monitor our progress and keep ourselves accountable for our development.
  • Apprenticeships – we support those starting out in their careers by helping them acquire valuable skills and experience in our sector.
  • Secondments – when staff have an interest in a different side of the business, we strive to give them the opportunity to learn new skills.

We believe in equity, diversity and inclusion

A diverse workforce is a better workforce – it better places ABTA to achieve its goals and means employees learn from a wider variety of experiences among their colleagues.

People from all backgrounds are part of an ‘opportunity culture’ at ABTA which is nurtured as part of a deliberate strategy to recruit, retain and grow a high-calibre workforce. ABTA colleagues commit to supporting workplace diversity themselves through their words and actions, and feel comfortable bringing their ‘whole selves’ to work.
