Did you know that the industry has, for many years, worked on best practice guidance that many accommodation providers now work to? Some of the topics we work to address range from general safety issues and security through to help in handling specific health outbreaks.
The safety and wellbeing of consumers is an integral part of the holiday experience. In a recent ABTA consumer survey, the results showed that safety and security was the number one priority with 89% of consumers highlighting this as important or very important.
This is why ABTA has a team dedicated to working with the travel industry on raising standards in health and safety and identifying best practice across the globe.
By working with our members and their accommodation providers, transport providers and other tourist services overseas, we bring issues to the attention of destination governments and authorities to try to improve standards of health and safety for the benefit of the traveller, the tourist industry and the local people.
