Date published: 17 June 2008

Travelex Global Business Payments (GBP) has today announced the launch of a new partnership with ABTA The Travel Association (ABTA).  The partnership has been designed to provide ABTA members with support when making their international payments, incorporating access to GlobalPay, Travelex GBP’s revolutionary payments system which offers a more efficient way to make and receive payments globally.

Recently launched,  GlobalPay is suitable for businesses of any size and all types of payments.  The system improves visibility of cash flow, currency risk, streamlines the international payment process and can dramatically cut the amount of time currently wasted reconciling and chasing payments.

As part of this partnership, ABTA members will also benefit from:

  • 0 percent commission on currency from Travelex Retail Bureaux
  • Two  European flights to customers who trade
  • Free consultations with a payments expert

Tony Wilson, UK divisional director of Travelex GBP comments: "We are very pleased that Travelex GBP has the opportunity to work with ABTA and its members to provide more efficient ways to make and receive their international payments.   We understand the travel market and there is a natural fit between the companies, enabling us to understand their needs and therefore provide members with the right level of support and help.

“The travel industry is continually looking at innovative ways to drive improved performance, we believe that by working with such a respected brand as ABTA, members can gain greater transparency and comfort when using Travelex's total payment solution".

Says David Marshall, ABTA head of communications: “ We are constantly searching for services and products that will truly add value to our members’ businesses. This new partnership will undoubtedly result in real and significant benefits to any ABTA member who uses the Travelex Global Business Payments system.”

Tony Wilson concludes: “We look forward to taking the relationship forward and helping ABTA members and their businesses.”
