Perfectly placed in the middle of the village but almost on the nursery slopes, the Hotel Roma is always a success and offers unbelievable value. With its creaky wooden floors, prints from bygone eras and old fashioned air the Roma is a pleasant reminder of the early days of skiing and is one of the original village buildings.
The Roma is a good quality 2 star now that it has received a long awaited transformation. All the rooms now have private facilities and the bar has been given a new lease of life by being both modernised and doubled in size. It's basic but clean and has good food.

Intermediates have many choices including some adventurous semi off-piste down little paths which wind through trees and seem to go on forever. Serre Chevalier is one of the best ski regions in France, and possibly the world, with over 250kms of piste covering 4 areas. Serre Chevalier itself is made up of four villages: Briançon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Monetier.  Serre Chevalier's snow record is excellent.
