PACKAGE TRAVEL REGULATIONS

The Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (BERR) is not actively reviewing the Package Travel Regulations (PTRs) but has engaged with ABTA and other trade bodies in discussing possible future changes.  Any changes are likely to wait until the European Commission's review of the Directive. 

ABTA’s Position

The proposals of the ABTA Working Group on Package Travel have previously been submitted to the Department of Trade and Industry (BERR’s predecessor). Any changes could be brought in together with the results of the proposal of the Better Regulation Executive on financial protection.
