PACKAGE HOLIDAYS
BERR Consultation on Draft Guidance on Package Holidays
Following the successful application for judicial review of a guidance note on package holidays issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (BERR) has drafted some further guidance on the definition of a package and the applicability of the Package Travel Regulations and the ATOL Regulations.
ABTA’s Position
ABTA issued proceedings to seek clarification of the law for the benefit of Members who need to understand what their obligations are in order to properly manage their business and fulfil their legal responsibilities. BERR has issued guidance which follows closely the decision and should assist the trade to understand its responsibilities.
